Apple Crisp Cut up 9 large Cortland apples, and macerate in a large bowl with: 1/2 cup sugar 1 tbs. cinnamon 2 tbs. tapioca pinch of salt juice of 1 lemon Put 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter on the stove to melt. Mix up in Cuisinart: 3/4 cup flour 3/4 cup oats 1 cup brown sugar 1 tbs. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. allspice 1/2 tsp. cloves pinch of salt 1 cup pecans or unsalted almonds Pulse until coarse, not too homogeneous, but no big nut chunks. Pour out into a bowl. Mix in: melted butter Spread the apple mixture in a buttered 13 X 9 pan. Sprinkle topping over apples and bake at 375 for 30-45 minutes.
